Formulation Development in Freeze Dried PharmaceuticalsABSTRACT:This webinar will discuss the development of a stable freeze dried formulation through appropriate selection of stablizers and excipients. The process of freeze drying is often used to increase shelf-life stability of pharmaceutical products, particularly proteins which are unstable in the solution state. However, the process can induce physical changes within the system which could have a short-term or long-term effect on the stability of the product. It is important to select appropriate stabilizers and excipients. Understanding the effect that each component has on the stability of the overall product is critical, as inappropriate selection may result in unwanted reactions, crystallization or other phase behavior, resulting in product degradation. |
