Field Service Engineer - SP Scientific

Location: Northern California
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt

SP Industries is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the daily operations of SP Scientific by providing service and technical support to our customers and technicians for equipment manufactured by SP.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the minimum qualifications cited.

Education, Experience, and Work Skills
  • Degree or Certificate from an approved two year college or technical school in a related field, five years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience or military specialization.
  • Basic Understanding of PLC Controls including ladder logic. A-B RSLogix a plus.
  • Familiar with the use of basic mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration inspection, test, and calibration equipment.
  • Familiar with the use of plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical assembly tools.
  • Familiar with plumbing and refrigeration processes including good piping techniques, silver soldering, and brazing.
  • Good electrical and electronic knowledge.
  • Good understanding of technical instructions, schematics, blueprints and specifications.
  • Good general mechanical skills
  • Good general computer Skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Language Skills
  • Able to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals.
  • Effective writing skills, able to produce concise reports, correspondence, and other documentation.
Mathematical Skills
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Able to compute rates, ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
  • Able to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigeration Card
