Americas Service Operations Manager - SP Scientific

Location: Stone Ridge, NY
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Office: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt

SP Industries is seeking a Service Operations Manager for the Americas service team based in Stone Ridge NY. The Americas Service Operations Manager will lead both tactical and strategic initiatives to take this service organization to a World Class after-sales service level, providing unparalleled support for our customers and financial growth for the business.

The Service Manager will build relationships, both internally and externally, and thrive on challenging the status-quo, working to foster a robust culture of Continuous Improvement (Kaizen). The manager's primary task will be to inspire the service organization to improve performance through an ethos of Lean Business Practices to achieve a Best-In-Class world class customer service level.

The Service Operations Manager's responsibilities include leading the service operations team to achieve the safety, quality, delivery and cost goals to support customer expectations and the business operating plan. This will be done by forging a close partnership between the service teams comprised of service administrators and technicians, both depot and field service, and Purchasing and Planning to create a great customer experience.

Travel to customers, suppliers and other SP sites should be expected.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the minimum qualifications cited.

Education, Experience, and Work Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Operations related field, or Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years progressive manufacturing management experience, of which 3 must include managing and directing the activities of supervisors and in developing people.
  • Knowledge of Operations Management and modern manufacturing and quality methods and systems
  • Working knowledge of Production and Capacity Planning.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and improving key performance indicator metrics through strong data analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience is a plus.
  • Experienced with ERP systems and their constraints.
  • Experienced with Quality Management Systems registered to ISO standards; ISO 9001:2008 standard preferred.
  • Proven track record of creating, implementing, or sustaining a lean operation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive change in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to energize and motivate people and to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Effective human relations and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Always portrays a positive, can do attitude in both favorable and adverse situations.
  • Leads with a high level of integrity and accountability.
